George Witzke brags about having the best job in the world. He gets to play with fire, get dirty and make lots of noise!
He learned to blacksmith in 1994 when a friend showed him the basics. Four years later, he left his "real job" of 18 years to be a full time blacksmith. For eight years he traveled to art and craft shows around the Western United States, selling his metalwork and demonstrating the art of blacksmithing. Now, he stays closer to the shop working on private and public commission projects. See Recent Work.
George's wife, April, is an active part of the business. While George does the art work, she does the customer relations. Occasionally, you will find her getting dirty in the shop or assisting George with design issues.
Last but not least is Dalton, George's third arm and an up and coming blacksmith. He specializes in letter openers, hoof picks and wind chimes.
